Tryouts - Communication of Results

A and AA Level Tryouts - Communication of Results (U19 and younger ages)

After the first tryout:

Within 24 hours of the first tryout, the results will be posted on the Ajax Pickering website (www.apringette.com). The results (i.e. those players that will be invited back to the second tryout) will be posted by pinnie colour and number; therefore, it is essential that players/parents record this information before returning their pinnie.

Before the second tryout:

There will be a player and parent meeting just prior the second tryout where the head coach will make a presentation on their team and player philosophy, on-ice and off-ice plans and expectations, tournament requirements, travel, and budget.

This information will enable families to consider the time, travel and financial requirements of an A or AA level team irrespective of proposed fundraising activity. If a family is unable to meet these requirements, then a message can be given to the coach to indicate the player will not proceed to the final tryout. If a player is invited to the third or final tryout, and accepts the invitation, then it is considered understood that the family can meet the obligations of being a member of the A or AA level team (i.e. by choosing to attend the final tryout, the player is indicating they will accept an offer to play, if presented).

After the second tryout:

Within 24 hours of the second tryout, the results (i.e. those players that will be invited back to the second tryout) will be posted on the Ajax Pickering website (www.apringette.com). The results will be posted by pinnie colour and number; therefore, it is essential that players/parents record this information before returning their pinnie (Note: players may be assigned different pinnies/#s throughout the tryout process, so be sure to record the most current pinnie used).

After the third / final tryout:

Following the third tryout, the head coach will telephone all players that participated in the final tryout to:

1) Offer a position on the team, or,

2) Inform the player that there will not be a position offered

Coaches will complete all calls within 24 hours following the final tryout; therefore, it is essential that players/parents provide multiple telephone numbers during tryout registration.

For players offered a position on an APRA team, the head coach may determine the deadline to accept offers (a minimum of 24 hours will be given to all candidates to accept offers).
